This clay Buddha amulet from Thailand is a 'votive tablet' set in a pendant bezel. These amulets are made by Buddhist Temples in Thailand as a way to raise funds. The Buddhist Monks meditate over these amulets for at least three days. As the legend goes, during this time the good intentions of the Monks transfer to the amulet thus imbuing them with their protective qualities.
Hand-knotted beads of faceted bronzite complete the 18.5 inch necklace. The amulet pendant is 2.75 inches long and 1.5 inches across.
