This one is a stunner! A rare and exquisite Tibetan prayer box, or Ga'u, studded with rubies and emeralds. A Ga’u is a small prayer box worn by Buddhists as portable shrines where prayers and sacred relics are kept and used during their travels. Today, Ga’u's are used as amulets to help the wearer to ward off negative energy and attract blessings.
This Ga’u is made originally in sterling silver then dipped in 24k gold. The 18 inch necklace is made with hand-knotted ruby quartz and gold vermeil accents. The pendant is 1.5 inches long and 1.25 inches wide.
