These Kuchi tribal coins have a decorative bail in contrasting metal and hang from an oxidized ring. The Kuchis are a nomadic tribe who have long lived along the ancient silk routes in Central Asia. Their jewelry traditionally incorporates coins and other dangles in large, exuberant headdresses. These coins are from one of those headdresses.
