This necklace is crafted by the Karen Hill Tribes of Thailand, one of the six major hill tribes that reside in the “Golden Triangle,” a region connecting Thailand, Laos and Burma. They take great care with their designs and craft them with only hand and hammer. Hill Tribe Silver generally consists of 98-99% pure silver.
I picked up the woven silver pieces (hand woven, not stamped) in Thailand directly from the Karen. Assembled with links that allow the 3 pieces to move, it closes with textured silver chain and hook closure. The 16 inch necklace sits as a collar and makes a dramatic statement.
