Ching Dynasty "Lock" Pendant with Labradorite
This ornamental pendant is a Chinese longevity lock from the late Ching Dynasty. It depicts an outdoor scene with a woman tending her garden. To the side is a building and in the background are mountains. Chinese lock amulets were used to "lock" loved ones to earth, keeping them with you for as long as possible - thus is representing long life. This one has its original patina, thus carrying with it the history of people who have owned it.
Strung on naturally flashing, faceted, hand-knotted labradorite which is 23 inches long, the pendant is 1.5 inches long and 2 inches wide.
